The Hill Country Literary Festival, now entering its second year, is a vibrant, community-driven event scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026. Hosted by the Mammen Family Public Library, the festival offers a full day of author talks, book sales, workshops, and interactive activities for attendees of all ages, celebrating the joy and power of the written word.<\/p>\n

This inclusive and accessible festival features a diverse range of local and regional authors across genres, including fiction, poetry, memoir, and children\u2019s literature. The event creates intimate opportunities for readers to engage directly with writers, gain insights into the creative process, and explore new works. Notably, all festival programs and activities are free to attend, with books available for purchase through the onsite bookseller or directly from the authors.<\/p>\n

For children, the festival emphasizes storytelling, creativity, and fun with scheduled storytime sessions hosted by local authors throughout the day. A keynote session titled “Battle of the Genres” brings together acclaimed children\u2019s authors Kari Lavelle and Lindsay Leslie to entertain and educate young audiences, followed by book signings and a lively children\u2019s storybook area.<\/p>\n
